Just pulled the RIGL chart - Garren exaggerates a bit when he suggests that trades of "only a few thousand shares a day" is common. That was certainly the case until March (when many good things started to happen to a number of our stocks), but volume has picked up notably since then. 60 day average is roughly 100k, so a buyer won't necessarily be caught in a liquidity trap.
Since I haven't followed it, don't know how the bid/ask looks intraday.
