If Federal legislation required all employers provide a minimum preventative insurance coverage the playing field would be even.

When I check later the cost and types of insurance available to government employees, we'll see if there is a basic plan they offer their employees.

The majority of our Military don't make much money. Maybe companies like WalMart could contribute the same amount the Government pays for the Military basic insurance....And the customers of WalMart (and like) can pay part of that cost. It will increase the cost of goods however.

Most companies from the 60's and before did NOT pay for the insurance premiums of their employees. It was not an expectation nor demanded right.

However, companies began to use the insurance, and in some cases, the car, and sometimes, the costs associated with a car, as a tool to retain the most desirable employees.

Many Wallmart families cannot afford to pay for the insurance of the bills.

But almost every one of them as got a big TV with a cable connection and HBO. It's all a matter of priorities. And there is no use beating on them for the way they act. It ain't gonna change.
