Hiding information and muzzling the population is a characteristic of a totalitarian government.... Telling the people the truth will strengthen, not weaken, the country. It may not help the administration in power if they have deceiving the people but it will strengthen the country. So vote you conscience, for democracy or totalitarianism.... Our enemies will recognize the difference for they usually live under the latter.

Nobody's hiding or muzzling. To the contrary, so long as you and your buds are free to post here, I take that as a sign that free speech is alive and well, despite yours and a few others' protestations.

Shrill left-wing lies and Bush-bashing aren't rational discourse designed to get at the truth. They're outright lying propaganda a most, inflamatory exaggerations at a minimum, that encourage those who we need to defeat. That encouragement translates into RPG's and roadside bombs aimed at our troops in Iraq.

You fail to distinguish between hiding information and muzzling the population, and using good judgment.
