I don't think so. Dean has more spunk than McGovern had and will certainly be more challenging. And the American people need to be challenged by a politican, not spoonfed by one.

Dean also seems to have an ability to rise to the occassion, a very necessary ingredient to win.

I think Kerry's principle problem--and this goes back a long way into the old antiwar days--is that he seems to come into the pack from the top, rather than evolve with the pack from within. Dean's mo-mo stems from this kind of gathering experience. Whereas Dean appears within and involved, Kerry seems from without trying and wanting a way to get in.

Basically what we have juxtrapositioned here is a doctor vs. a war hero. Subliminally, people want healing. They wanna be healed from the tragic events of 9/11 the resultant wars and the genuine fear of what the future might be like. And the country has seen enough war hero presidents, has seen enough bumbling presidents--a doctor image fits nicely here. It appears Dean builds nicely on this.

Kerry's only hope at this point is that a media circus goes bad on Dean. But that won't happen since it seems the media is liking Dean also. Kerry, rather than match Dean's funding, should probably save it and posture for a future time candidacy. The VP slot won't work if Dean's at the top, so maybe Kerry should begin thinking about the healing too--and get behind Dean so as to help build the mo-mo.

In a nutshell, that's how I see it. In Massachusetts, I doubt I'll vote for either candidate. You see, the ones I vote for never win--lol!
