Dems need these flag-waving moderates to beat Bush and they are definitely not going top support Dean. He won't get 10% of pro-military voters. If Kerry didn't have a Silver Star he wouldn't either.

If this stupid, self-destructive dream-for-Dean movement in liberal New England continues, Clark may get my support. Kerry may be the best and brightest but I am not very sentimental. If Kerry loses by more than 5% in NH I may get behind Clark. The key is to beat Bush, and Kerry and Clark are the only two who can do it except Gore who isn't in the race yet.

Mark my words though, if Clark fails to take care of Dean, Al Gore has until February to get in for the big California multiple primary day. RFK did that and if he hadn't been murdered he'd have been president.

If Kerry, Edwards, Lieberman and Gephardt prove to be also-rans (at least two of them definitely will be) then they will all endorse Gore over Dean and a Gore-Clark ticket could beat Bush fairly handily. A Clark-Kerry ticket might be successful too. Or Clark-Edwards. Stress the southern and the military experience to beat Bush.

For the life of me, I cannot understand all the negative press Kerry is getting and all the positive press dean seems to get. Very little of it is desrved on either end.
Any debate between the two and Kerry blows dean away. They have roughly the same amount of money now too. (The CEO of Viacom is giving a big Kerry fundraiser next week that I'm attending. Kerry supporters are cocnerned but still behind him)

To stop dean, we may see some unpredictable events come into play. Though Dean has 15% and may peak at 30% I don't think he can go any further. That means the majority can stop him if they just agree on a sound strategy. After NH and Iowa we will know a lot more.
