Aetna is close to $200 a month for federal employees as well, if you choose the high coverage option, which allows you to pick your own doctors.

Kaiser is cheap because it's an HMO. You can only use Kaiser doctors at Kaiser clinics, and there are not many Kaiser clinics. Takes months to get appointments unless you have an emergency. It's about 9 miles to the nearest clinic for me.

Our premium for 2 with our small business and a PPO is $1150/mo PLUS copays!!! ....maybe it's because we're approaching "older"...
