You got the record straight. He never killed anyone but he messed with a lot of lives. I was in California when he was executed. 6th grade as I remember. My first introduction to the death penalty, I hadn't read about it before but the papers were full of it, especially because he did his own legal work and had avoided it so long. I didn't live there, my parents always took a 4-5 week working vacation in February and March. I got "home schooled" on those trips. I was on a pre taped Art Linkletter during the trip and my teacher wouldn't let me off to see myself on national TV. My mother went to the principal and I got an hour off and all D's on my report card.
