Have you noticed the two private takeovers on utilities the past two days. Texas Pacific and KKR both buying. These guys are not known to over spend on stuff. <g>

Have any utilities popped up in your screens of late?

Texas Pacific guys are some ex Bass brothers employees. They are snagging PGE from Enron. Purchase price is around 2.5 billion and as I recall Enron paid much more than that 5 years ago or so.

Funny how CNBS missed that story on Friday of last week. Seems like a fairly large deal to overlook.

OSX generally considers future earnings expectations over past earnings.

BHI BJS HAL SLB WFT SII CAM are trading at 20 times 2004 EPS. So either earnings expectations drop further or these prices go up towards 25 times 2004 earnings.

NBR PTEN PDS are trading at 18 times 2004 EPS. So the same point applies here.

OIH and OSX are so skewed because the OSX performance is so limited to land drilling with offshore work so weak.

Dabum what do you think of the charts for PTEN & NBR. Where should I get real worried?
