If a hard drive goes out, I welcome it as an opportunity to do a fresh re-install of Windows and all software.

I don't understand the need for Drive Image, therefore.


It takes what, 20-30 minutes to get the basic OS on your drive, and then another 30-60 minutes to install service packs and get your browser, email and main apps reconfigured? So, why not make a clone at this point and next time you refresh your system, start with a clone that takes 5 minutes to restore and be 1/2 - 2 hours ahead of the game?
