OT -- Vazquez. not quite there, at least not yet (he is only 27). K/9 still only in the 9 area, and he gives up a few too many home runs. but he doesn't walk guys, and his 650-ish OPS against puts him close to Schilling's league and is much better than Colon/Millwood/Pettitte. we are getting Schilling for not much more than a bucket of balls, though; i don't think le Expos will take anything less than Johnson and Sorianno for Vazquez, and we definitely don't have the prospect firepower to compete with that. if we get Schilling, we just have to close the deal on Foulke and we'll be pretty set for next year, barring injuries.
