There are hundreds of useful government activities in modern societies. Medical research, public health (SARS), Head Start (pre-scool education), law enforcement, highway building & repair. *** One could almost say that for every XX million in NIH funding, the survival rate on one of the 200 type of cancer increases YY %.... For about every $100,000 or so spent on highway safety, about one accident every year can be eliminated... *** Flip side , there is the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, which was funded in the Homeland Security bill, and the energy effiecent Hooters resturant which will be funded in the Energy bill.
