IMO Canadians put up with high taxes because they are the descendants of folks who are less rebellious and more accepting of state authority than Americans.

Well there yah go. Thanks for sorting it out for us. And we thought it was because of our low population density and lack of scale of economy in providing quality of life to ourselves. Add to that our costly inclinations regarding health care and providing it for all our citizens. Now we know we're just wuss'es (sp?).

Caramba! And I thought it was because Canada rode on the coat tails of the US economy and the US returning to its natural size would not be sucking imports from Canada, thus forcing Canada to have its own internal market -like the 140 million people I keep writing about.
