I would go with the drive tray instead of the USB. And back-up the whole thing, not just your data.

I would get a 120G to backup a 120G.

It really depends on how much stuff you have installed. I am a software developer, and it takes WEEKS to build a new system from scratch. (Maybe a couple of days to be able to run compiles, but weeks before everything is back to what it was - if I can remember what it was...)

If you are an online trader, that could still take days.

Just email and word-processing, maybe a day. OK if you have a day to spare.
