room222,

AMD (and their stock) has had its ups and downs, they have been very cyclical. From investment perspective, it is good to be in on one of the huge upswings, and be out (or short) on one of the huge down swing.

Whether this time, the up cycle will be sustained, I don't know.

As far as the questions about AMD, they have the capacity to meet about 400% of the entire server market. That should be enough, IMO.

As far as deadlines etc, this is the business run by optimists, with plans and forecasts, that are routinely missed, starting from the biggest (MSFT, INTC), all the way down the line. Still, the one who misses by the least, delivers the most, with most consistency, is the winner.
