it does no good to report bad statistics like this, because these things end up in higher interest rates down the line.

This 8% number has to be a HUGE red flag for the BLS though, because clearly something is amuck. If we had just one month of 7% and then back to say, 4% or 3% it might have been believeable but 7 then 8? Out of whack.
