We are doing it in Afghanistan and oil is not involved. We were doing it in Vietnam and oil was not involved.

The pipeline agreement signed last summer between Pakistan, Karzai's puppet regime in Kabul and the dictator, Turkmenbashi, in Turkmenistan for a new natutal gas pipeline contradicts your statement about Afghanistan.

Various recently de-classified U.S. State Department memos from the 1960s refute your statement about Viet Nam. We were clearly there for resource exploitation. Specifically, speculation of vast oil reserves in the territorial waters of Viet Nam, and certain knowlegde about the potential to exploit tin and rubber reserves. This resource grab was veiled by the media, claiming at the time that we were containing Communism and concerned about a domino effect.

The only domino the U.S. government was really concerned about was Domino Sugar Corp.'s bottom line.

JP: I agree. People really ought not break the law."

This is astonishingly simplistic reasoning. Even William F. Buckley is smart enough to realize that the current prohibition on recreation drugs in this country is being maliciously used by the government to persecute minorities and further racist agendas. Some laws are bad laws. Well over 45% of all persons imprisoned in the U.S. are for victimless crimes. This is a national shame.
