It is my understanding that participation in the proposed plan is voluntary. A person can choose not to participate.

So, in that case, I fail to understand what the noise is about.

Having the Federal government intimately involved with voters' health care provides elected officials with a win win situation.

Stump speech A: "I am fighting to keep you healthy!!!"

Stump speech B: "I will fight to clean up the Federal Health care mess so you can be healthy again!!.

The Repubs want to get the whole program over to HMO, and they are right. I don't know why the Dems fight this so hard.
