When pollsters figure out that some polarizing anger out there has a deeply divided electorate... can you think of any time when that didn't mean an upset?

1972. McGovern very correctly read the dissatisfaction in the nation over Viet Nam. Nixon blatantly lied about having a peace plan, and won in a landslide. If you think Bush won't be lying with every breath during the campaign about how well things are going in Iraq, and how soon the troops are coming home, I got a bridge I can sell you, cheap. <gg>
Bush's political strategist, Karl Rove, learned at the knee of Lee Atwater, Nixon's most despicable "dirty tricks" propagandist.

The American people (en masse) appear to be too stupid to know when the President is lying, or too callous about how well the Empire is marching on to care about the fact that America is frequently the most dishonest nation in the world w/r/t foreign policy.

DemocracyNOW!: "Alexander Cockburn Speaks Out On Rupert Murdoch..."

I loved the Murdock segment. Cockburn is absolutely honest. And absolutely scathing about a fascist named Murdock.
