hmmmm another casualty of Monday night football... or brute sport for that matter...

I think spending time in the Monday Night Football booth made him realize that most of America could care less about esoteric references, unless they were sports related, and that criticizing the current administration wouldn't buy him the fame or fortune he clearly wants. No balls whatsoever imho

I do not think that it particularly applies to the "American people" exclusively... I think it is a world-wide attitude. Unfortunately, it is the media who has the power to guide it, through the " expert" commentary. In other words, they concentrate on the negative side of sports such as the inherent violence (in some sports), macho bs, money, drug & sex scandals, and whatever other thing that obtains "audiendce" ... they ignore the positives of sports, or at least they simply do not enhance it. i.e. individual skill, team effort, result oriented mentality...

No balls.... yes, possibly, but more than that I think he miscalculated this Monday night thing....
