A year ago this was seen as a death knell for any challenger. Now, it isn't mentioned as much and my guess is the challenger to Bush gains a HUGE war chest from all the industries on the other side of this Bush boondoggle, and there are many of those.


You are probably right. Nonetheless, I see unseating Bush to be a very difficult task..........not impossible but difficult nonetheless. He will play to the fears concerning terrorism and how the GOP is the party of homeland security.

I think for the Dems to win, they need a strong get out of the vote, no third party siphoning of votes like in 2000 with Nader, a good proportion of the independent votes, and no terrorist attacks on US soil before the election.

My brother who was Dean has changed his mind. Although he gave money to Dean during the internet hoopla, now he's decided Dean cannot beat Bush. No urging from me on this either. I trust a lot more Deanies will come to their senses. Dean cannot beat Bush.
