Where do you get your consumer spending figures? I don't have those available. Try the government, Liz. bea.gov You can change the starting year, BTW, to see that real personal consumption expenditures have risen every quarter since Bush took office. In fact, the last time it fell on a quarterly basis was 1991. PS: In case you're looking for something to spin, it has often taken dips on a monthly basis, even during the bubble years. It's a volatile series, better considered on a quarterly basis if you're interested in identifying trends.
