The question for Drudge and others is, "who, exactly, is doing the 'pressuring' for this?". It is very unlikely to be Dean. He has no love lost for military pretense.

It's either a set-up job to create an embarassment for Dean, or as you say, a covert mission being honored.

Either way it's unseemly to complain over where bodies are being buried. Anytime you see all these unnamed sources you know it's bullsh*t, and makes the story look like a put-up job to create dissent among uniformed military against Dean.

As James Carville said recently on Tim Russert's show, the GOP will stop at nothing. This shows Dean is gaining visibility and going beyond the dismissive stage, heading towards the character-assassination stage of GOP strategy.
