DUBYA: A PLAGUE UPON THE PLANET

Chris,

Thanks for posting that wonderful Morford piece. He's one of the most excellent things in the world. Who would have guessed that the most articulate commentator from the San Francisco Chronicle since Herb Caen would be faced with the destruction of the planet by the rapacious fascists of the Republican Party? They used to be real Americans. Now they are real reprehensible.

I loved reading Herb Caen in his declining years. He still had wit, sensibility and compassion. But he was witnessing the decline and fall of a great city. And it was a sad thing to witness the destruction of the dream of San Francisco through Caen's eyes and pen.

Now, the malaise that Caen saw on the microscopic level is being examined courageously and intelligently by Mark Morford on the macro scale. This planet is imploding. Imploding because of over-population of greedy humans. The most grasping of whom are the storm troopers of the Republican Party, hellbent on stealing everything on the planet that isn't nailed down.

God Help America. It was such a wonderful experiment. Too bad that Franklin was right. What did we create at the Constitutional Convention? "A republic, m'am. If you can keep it." Well, we kept it for 225 years. Bush is determined to end our noble experiment, once and for all.

Despotism is the natural condition that breeds half-breeds like George Bush. The sniveling, snaky and shaky shake-down artist. The Crawford Crawlfish.

Happy Thanksgiving, Y'all!
