If I remember correctly, it was something like 14 out of 19 which likely was OBL's point. He wanted to get the US and the corrupt Saudi Royal Family out of SA in particular due to the location of religious cities there.

He could have selected other nationalities but this made his point more clear. Unfortunately, thanks to the PPIC, OBL has a chance of getting what he wanted. The PPIC has destabilized the area even more, provided a rallying point for extremists, emphasized the limitations of the US military and is growing a new generation of angry young radicals.

The really alarming and terribly ironic point is this, if OBL is considered successful by other extremists, that would provide an MO for future extremists. OBL wanted Saddam's secular, more-or-less religiously tolerant government to go...it did. OBL wanted the US military to leave SA...it may in favor of a new ME center in...Iraq.

The law of unintended consequences is still alive and well especially where there is little understanding and knowledge coupled with total lack of planning.
