re: French anti-semitism/anti-Zionism.

I am anti-Zionist and pro-Jewish. I think this is the position of almost all the Left in N. America.

But elsewhere, unfortunately, anti-Zionism is often a convenient cloak for anti-semitism (anti-Jew would be a better term).

The French are about 1% Jews, 10% Muslims, and the rest athiests. Without the support of the athiests (Enlightenment Secular Humanists is the nice term), the Jews cannot defend themselves against the Muslims. So far, the athiests are making inadequate efforts. They just don't seem to care, or at least care enough.

Zionists should be happy with all this. French Jews do nothing for Zionism. If they move to the U.S., they support Jewish influence in Israel's crucial Patron. If they move to Israel, and are settled in the West Bank, they can finish the process of making a Palestinian State impossible.
