I think the Canadians should be reasonable about this, and if Muslims decide to set up their very own set of laws in place of any existing Canadian laws they should all be deported.

right now this is simply an arbitration board for personal and business disputes.

And it should remain that way, because that was what Sharia was about in the early days of Islam. Over time it has been interpreted different ways, and abused as well.
