Sounds like it's a bit hyped to me.. I don't see the Canadians adapting sharia at all...

Haven't read that Arbitration Act (nor am I particularly inclined to search for it), but it would seem that the Canadian government has upheld the concept that disputing parties have the right to arbitration along terms they both acknowledge, without interference by the government unless the law is violated (such as agreeing to sell children into slavery.. etc).
