Quit trying to blame it on Clinton. Clinton did not launch a war against Saddam. Bush did. Clinton contained Saddam without incident and major cost.

It is each president's job to make 100% sure he's doing the right thing, or damn close, before launching a unilateral war. It's never been done before except in two other cases where lies were used as an excuse, Vietnam and the Spanish-American war. We don't need to regress to the bad old days when the exeutive branch hoodwinked the public and congress at their discretion.

Despite Bush's nice gesture in stopping in Iraq today, it's clear this war is wildly overly-costly and is getting us nowhere. Even looking ahead 2-3 years it's hard to see how it will make us any safer. More likely it will make us the targets of more andmore terrorists. It will also make some oil companies rich but the US taxpayer much poorer. Consider that is you are an average tax-payer this war may end up personally costing you thousands of dollars. That's when we finally have to pay off the record-breaking Bush deficits and new debt.
