They took a boat from Guyana, and went past Voisey's Bay into Henry Hudson's route, where the Maid of the Mist sailed through the great North West Passage in 1945 and got stuck in the ice back then. (Or was that the St. Malo, or something like with Sargeant Rupert Steele of the NW Mounted. ) Last holes were drilled in 1966 by an obscure mining engineer with a penchant for gunkholing odd little sulphide deposits.
