Those headlines we were joking about will happen, in one form or another. You can't get around the fact that the Commander in Chief visiting the troops in a war zone is one hell of a story. Will it bump him? Yes, but that does not mean anything by itself. The election is a long way off.

The media whining about not being in on the story was surprising. They would have broken it with five minutes and blamed it on the internet.

But it does show who controls the story. The White House.
