The press reported that military honors
are bestowed on the remains in all caskets returned from Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia.

I forget how many soldiers are still reported Missing in Action from the Vietnam
war but when someone is returned they receive full military honors. I believe the
ceremony would mean a great deal to the family even if the military later
discovers that the person was a civilian.

I apologize for my other explanation which was awkward.
I hope this explanation is better.

P.S. My uncle was killed when he was in the Navy. His body was never recovered, but
had it been found, my grandparents would have appreciated the dignity of the honors
ceremony.
