"Bush gives favored industries or contractors subsidies or contracts and they kick back some of the swag to his political machine. This, I think, is his political glass jaw, exemplifying as it does the systemic corruption of American politics."

"Bush has revived a model of governance pioneered by corrupt city bosses like Boston's James Michael Curley and Jersey City's Frank "I am the law"."

Great to be free with the pen, take a broad brush to Bush without facts and associate him with corrupt bosses like Curley. Wow, what responsible journalism.

Interesting that Beatty now says this about Dean and Gebhardt...when just awhile ago he was ALL for Clark.

He certainly doesn't manage to keep his bias against Bush off the pages, does he?

I just got word confirmed...my step-brother will be returning from Iraq combat duty on December 23rd and will be at our annual family Christmas gathering.

He was a Bradley platoon sergeant, got promoted to Master Sergeant while in combat and now serves in an Intel unit.

I can't wait to talk to that dude...His platoon mission was to support SF night OPS.

A few months ago, our local SFA Chapter sent his platoon enough baseball gear to field a team. We recently got a Christmas card signed by the entire platoon thanking us for the support. Each man in the Platoon wrote a personal note to us. That was classy for a bunch of grunts.
