Gore will come back if his party needs him.
Anyone who thinks Gore wouldn't jump at the chance to be the nominee without having to go through 90% of the process is foling himself. Gore has played it cool but I'm sure it really-really bothers hm that he was cheated out of the WH, and also that he made some crucial mistakes which made it so close in the first place. Gore has a history of coming back after a shattering loss tougher than ever and learning from his mistakes. He's still a relatively young man.
But he won't be back unless Kerry and Clark cannot stop Dean. In the end, dean will not be the nominee. That is almost a sure thing. He'd need 50% primary voter support in order to break through all the firewalls. Maxmimum if all goes well for Dean he's capable of getting maybe 35%, but probably more like 25%.
