9-11 was a bogus screen as far as Iraq is concerned. It is an eye opener that threat is from Al Qaeda and weakly led ME countries.
Neutralizing Al Qaeda should be first priority. The highway to that goes through Afghanistan and not Iraq (at best a trail might run through it).
