I think the big spending was necessary to turn economy around. I do not like the big spending.. esp. the farm bill Bush sign with Daschle a year or so ago.. The energy bill is way out of line and not even close to what Bush wanted. I hope it gets does not go through unless major changes are made to it..

I wonder about the medicar bill that got passed.. Many states (pa. had a pace program) have elderly prescription drug programs in place.. I assume the state would back out and they would give them additional money for other social welfare programs or pre school programs. Of who knows they may not spend the money and not raise state taxes. or give us tax cuts on realestate taxes.

I believe the economy turning will increase tax money coming into federal gov. What balance will offset tax increases down the road yet to be seen. Soc sec. medicare, down the road someone has to show courage and adjust qualifications for these programs. increase age, income qualify , etc.. I am disappointed no one on either side will address this subject.

In the end i support the medicare bill to provide drugs for low income elderly and handicap who cannot afford drugs. I am concerned this turns out badly if those covered by private firms are forced into the program and it ends up costing them more for prescriptions.. In my mind i see corporations very happy to drop all elderly from their programs.
