It wasn't even Junior's idea to go to Iraq. He doesn't care much for soldiering.
<font color=green>For a president fond of a tough-guy image, George W. Bush was uneasy when an aide casually asked him, "You want to go to Baghdad?"

"Aww, Andy! Do I have to? I wanted to watch the Macy Parade".

<font color=green>It was White House chief of staff Andrew Card who first proposed the surprise trip -- not the president.

"Andy (Card), as he often does, said (to Bush) almost in passing: 'Thanksgiving's coming up. Where do you want to go? You want to go to Baghdad?"' Rice recalled, and the planning got under way.

In a year from now, this stunt will become as unpalatable to the Republicans as the chimp-on-the-ship stunt of 6 months ago!

The irony is that 6 months after "Mission Accomplished", the chimp had to sneak in and out of Baghdad. Anybody who thinks 6 months from now, things will be any different, has just elected himself to the Dunce's Hall of Fame (Founder President: Dumbya... oops... Dan Quayle!)
