Junior is sheltered from any contact with reality. Appearances are scripted, unvetted questions are not allowed, and he's not given the opportunity to watch tv or read the news, to avoid complicating his programming. In that way, he can be kept on track as the public face, with nothing to say, but saying it repeatedly, to maintain the facade of responsive government while the country is looted. Even so, he's shown no remorse in Texas for pulling the switch a record number of times, while laughing on a radio show mocking a condemned woman's last request. The first sign of reality was 9/13/01 in the first news conference in the Oval Office when he couldn't finish and started to puddle up and left the room. I suspect that spurred the decision to isolate him from any future situations that might put him in unscripted consideration of the magnitude of those crimes.
