One of the areas where Coxe has been most helpful to me is in thinking about the bull market stages and identifying where we are in the process. He uses a three-part sonata analogy and says that we are still in the allegro, or first phase. The third phase, or presto phase is the one in which we get the blow-off top and in between those two is the largo phase. This week he says that we will know we are nearing the end of the first phase when we get a wave of consolidation in the industry.
