Hot home sales bail out foreclosures

fresnobee.com

Robin Kane, a real estate analyst in Fresno, said the Valley's strong housing market can bail out homeowners. They can either sell the properties and repay the debt or get a home-equity loan.

"They can visit their local convenience equity loan store," he said. "In the past, when you needed to get a loan to tide you over, there were very few sources. Now, they are everywhere. There are a lot of places to get you over the hump."

Local convenience equity loan stores are to 2003 what 7-11s were in the 70s.
