"Sort of" is the key. Yes, both Trotsky and Plato share a couple of characteristics. Both were high-brow intellectuals in societies that favored middle brow pragmatists. Both felt that an anointed, appointed elite should control the unruly mob.

But I believe Plato gyrated toward gyros and Trotsky pastrami on wry.
