Bush Sr. invaded for oil too. Of course in that case he had a much better excuse. His friends the Kuwaitis were at risk. Ironic though that only 5 years earlier Saddam had been a keen ally of the Reaganites. Saddam must have been thinking "hey c'mon guys, I thought we were buddies". Poor brutal Saddam. He thought the Bushies were his friends. At least the Gulf War was done with a huge coalition and we didn't even have to pay for it. We also got low oil prices for years afterward. This time it's just the opposite. We get the worst of all posible worlds.
