When you decide to define "conspiracy", you'll be in hot water if you define any gov't corruption as "conspiracy".

It's pretty much used in the same breath as "alien abductions", to dismiss any further examination of uncomfortable facts.

The situation we have now with rampant and massive purchase of gov't officials is so bad that it's passed "conspiracy" to become a vast and public marketplace of amorality.

Even Robert Novak has started to get uncomfortable with it. It won't be too long before other cherished purveyers of party line abandon the lockstep and speak outside of school.

I think your limit may be the commercial criminality, but it's likely the idea of the politics of assassination you can't stomach. I don't blame you. It creates a special kind of anger to even contemplate that there might be such ruthless people in trusted positions of gov't.
