Yes our neighbor who worked for GE in customer service costing GE $11 an hour is now on welfare because she was replaced by an Indian for $1.50 hour.


You will hear tales of it, but the Unemployment stats just don't bear it out. People find other jobs. A major part of huge jump in efficiency the last ten years was the elimination of white collar jobs by increased IT. Like it or not, it keeps lowering prices and raising the National output. So it isn't going to cease.

Instead of trying to stop it, our politicians would be doing the country a better job by lowering the barriers they have set up to starting new companies. California, with Workmens comp and environmental regulations, etc, is a major example of that. City minimum wage laws, such as they have in San Franciso, are one more way to run off Business.
