I've never posted my opinions and pretended them to be fact as many on this thread do from time to time (not you).

I'd love to be proven wrong on this. I truly mean it. I wish the US would make a meaningful move. Right wingers will disagree with this.

I truly believe that the world would posture and say "never mind." I do believe that the French were motivated more by economic ties than by a moral imperative. Is it ok to post this on a moderate thread?

Again - I hope I am proven wrong. Some of the democratic candidates claim that they would do just this so perhaps there will an opportunity.
