Not sure what you find funny about it. I've been trying to get your answer concerning 800mhz deployment from RobV for more than a year.

I now understand Fresnel effect and a diminished multipath advantage. But, if the tree leaves, cinderblocks, and drywall are diffracting and absorbing my consumer-grade happiness from existing cellsites, then I can only study existing hostpot deployments to predict commercial success.

Consumers are only now starting to forgive PCS carriers for their dead zones over the past 5 years. Because of EDGE and 1X, I don't see a differentiation to the average laptop-toting consumer to believe the 5 year clock will start over for you.

Don't overthink throughput. Name a reason to buy a 54mb/sec connection to a laptop that doesn't involve trojan viruses and a Microsoft operating system.

Help me find a WOFDM implementation that can fit into a cellphone, use omnidirectional antennas even indoors, and can be deployed as a direct replacement for PCS CDMA without new cellsites.
