That's what killed communism and state-directed capitalism such as Brazil and Argentina and crony capitalism of Asia. But governments live off people's money but want to give the impression that people can live off government. Hence the spiral towards destruction of the whole system or TEOTWAWKI. I don't see any possibility of reality reasserting itself.
