I admire Dean for many things but do not want him anywhere near the nomination. That said, he could be a terrific player in helping the Dem nominee beat Bush. He has pledged to support whomever that is.

Dean has an outside chance to win if he can get over 40% of the vote and successfully move to the center, but that's a huge hurdle and very unlikely. I expect he'll stay in the race and get something in the 25-30% area, not enough to win. If he were a tall, centrist war hero he'd get it in a second, but he's really too much like Dukakis. We cannot risk that again. Sorry. AL Gore would be a much stronger candidate than Dean if Kerry and Clark fail.
