"Revulsion and removal is the only sane way of dealing with people like Dahmer and I really don't care if the removal is by lethal injection or in a football stadium with a sharp axe."

Well, that is their method. They are our leaders and we follow, then?

I think forgiveness is a rather contrived emotion.”

Unfortunately it has become politicized. When a person demonstrates that they are truly remorseful, has made every effort to provide restitution and is living in a way that demonstrates they have had a change of heart, most people find it easy to forgive an offense. For example, if you say rude things and break my lamp in a drunken stupor, I’d figure you owe me something when you sober up. If you show up with hat in hand (and 50 bucks for the lamp) and apologize that would help. If you also demonstrate, somehow, that you intend to treat me in a dignified manner in the future, I’d probably consider you a stand up guy and be happy to continue the friend ship. On the other hand if you just never graced my doorstep again, I’d figure you for a jerk and move on (some people call that forgiving).

Some actions are so heinous that there is no possible way for the perp to resolve them selves with the victim or society. If you land in jail for murder, rape, and mayhem but later proclaim you are ‘born-again’, I’d figure you are manipulating the masses. Many in this situation jump at the chance to proclaim their forgiveness and I’d say that is ‘contrived’.

”We live in a society where the individual has lots of rights but one where the sanctity of the individual is not sacred.”
