The Flagging BBC

Many Americans admire the British Broadcasting Corp., which they think offers more sophisticated coverage of world affairs than the American media do. So how come the BBC can't even get world flags right? The weather section of the BBC Web site, has a series of "country guides." The Hong Kong page shows the flag of Chile. El Salvador's page is adorned with Egypt's flag, and Liberia's page with the banner of Lesotho. Worst of all, the Iraq page displays the flag of erstwhile archenemy Iran.
