Because the markets are vulnerable to it, that is all. As for US corporations, they benefit, but not as much as they used to since production is overseas now.

I don't think this economy is healthy, overall. Thats my main gripe. Way too much debt and stimulus which is walking out the door with offshore labor, only to come back in the way of purchasing US assets. That is what I think.

The continued weakness of the dollar makes the US weak.
Your million bucks ain't a million bucks anymore. And instead of 1.1 million Euros it's now 900,000 Euros. Bush's policies have made us poorer as a nation globally.
